Poor Dog

Tuesdays, I have a busy schedule and probably will post once or maybe even not at all. Sorry. I have to go to three classes and be the managing editor of my college newspaper from 7pm until 12am. Fun, yes. Time-consuming, also yes.

Marlie really doesn't like me walking to or from newspaper because it's at a building that's like a mile away from my dorm. In between the building and my room are sketchy walkways, muggers, drug-dealers, etc. Yeah. It's a great area. So every night, she drops me off at 7pm and picks me up at 12am. I protest and say I'd be fine walking there and back by myself every Tuesday, but I secretly love the attention. It all adds up to even more time that I get to spend with her on my busiest day of the week.

Plus, we have some crack conversations.

Me: "Did you know that 0.5% of the world's population are direct descendants of Genghis Khan?"
Her: "Seriously?"
Me: "Mm-hm. That's 16 billion people."
Her: "Nuh-uh."
Me: "Yuh-huh!"
Her: "I think you meant million."
Me: "What?"
Her: "16 million people."
Me: "That's what I said."
Her: "... you know what? It definitely is."
Me: "I think that's a drug dealer over there."
Her: (peering) "No, just someone homeless."
Me: "Is he..."
Her: "... doing something inappropriate to that dog? Yes."
Me: "Oh my god."
Her: "Keep walking, hikari."

God, I love this city.
